How Does the Bowflex Compare to Other Weights?

!±8± How Does the Bowflex Compare to Other Weights?

Comparing a Bowflex to other weights is a bit like comparing apples to oranges. While both are used for getting into shape, the method differs slightly. They are both excellent methods for working out the choice between them boils down to what you are trying to accomplish and how much room you have to do it in.

Free Weights

Free weights are considered dead weight and as such require more muscle groups to use. When you use free weights such as dumbbells and barbells, you must balance the weight when you lift. This will work a group of muscles called stabilizers.

Most people interested in using free weights are building muscle mass as opposed to getting fit or toning. Using free weights will increases metabolism and build lean muscle both of which will significantly increase your fat burning ability, increase strength and flexibility.

The downside to free weights is generally in the amount of space a good set up will require. You need plenty of room for the bench plus area around to do the exercises correctly. If you have a small area to work out in you may have to go with a machine like the Bowflex.

The home gym is a good machine on many levels. First of all, since the weight is stabilized for you, there is much less risk of injury, plus you can press a large amount of weight and never need a spotter. This is good news for someone who is just beginning or who does not have a partner.

A Bowflex offers a wide variety of exercises to choose from. Whether you are a professional athlete looking to train specific areas of the body such as legs if you are a runner or a throwing arm for pitchers, Bow Flex has a range of motions particularly for you.

The one area it really performs well in is for people with previous injuries. This machine is a great tool to use for rehabilitation.

Conclusion

Bowflex does very well when compared to traditional weights. Many of the same things can be accomplished between the two. Weight loss, strength training, and toning are just a few. What it really comes down to is personal choice and the amount of room you have to work with. The Bowflex is compact and can be easily stored away should the occasion call for it.

The Bowflex Select Tech Dumbbells

!±8± The Bowflex Select Tech Dumbbells

I recently had the pleasure to try out the Bowflex SelectTech dumbbells. When I saw this, I thought they were the best thing in the history of fitness equipment. So I thought it was time to try them.

The product is very impressive. You get 15 sets of dumbbells from 5 pounds - 52.5 pounds (2.5 to 25 steps and then five pounds for 50) in two pairs of dumbbells. The way in which it operates, he is simply to turn a knob to adjust the amount of weight on all four sides and'Ready to go!

Bowflex SelectTech Professionals

-This set is the ultimate space saver. With only two pairs of dumbbells, you should not set to devote an entire room of a weight. You can also take home with friends or a place for a workout.

-They look really cool! Especially with the state that is sold separately for about $ 150.

-You are responsible for Bowflex by Nautilus, which is a reliable supplier of fitness equipment.

-An interesting feature is thathave offset weight selection. You can do curls or extensions in the head with one side heavier than the others, for an extra challenge. This promises to be a unique feature, but people have had this for centuries with the discs. However, there is still a solid advantage over free weights and a transition much easier than changing discs.

-A lot of people say that they are expensive. They are not real and that is why I have this problem as a professional. A set of 15 good quality dumbbellsThe range would cost $ 775 Bowflex at $ 400-500. It's actually a little 'more accessible. The weight can be much cheaper than a fixed weight rack. This is a good value.

Bowflex SelectTech disadvantages of

A maximum weight of 52.5 pounds can not be limited to a few people. You can use a larger amount of up to 90 pounds. And 'more expensive but at around $ 700-800.

-A common complaint about this product is that the disks that are not usedsometimes holding the handlebars. If you pull out from the base, a plate of weight that is not used, it may fly out. This can really damage floors or feet! This is the first time I really tried. The best solution to this problem is to shake them a little 'before lifting off. This has happened since my clients (who have the dumbbells) has found the trick tremble.

-You look a bit 'fragile. Bowflex SelectTech This is also a warning not todrop. I do not think that many people throw their weight around the house anyway (even in the gym, there's this strange phenomenon, weight throw), but I am still a bit 'nervous break when they fall randomly from a bank.

-Most is about a factor of this product, what will happen if they break? Even one. The whole set is ruined. Bowflex provides a guarantee of 5 years. I personally do not think it's long enough! Imagine losing 15 sets of dumbbells all at once. Thewould be devastating!

Bottom Line

Bowflex SelectTech This is fun to use and looks really cool! I think it's a great product to buy. Especially if you try to save space. The only thing that has me really stop buying is the risk that they are not strong enough to last for years and years. At least with free weights, you know they are virtually indestructible.

The disadvantages are solutions, such as the purchase of the set heavier, and at the bottom, smallcautious with them, then set a normal weight. These are things that are not a terrible inconvenience. It just takes a little 'more consideration.

If you buy a set of weight and wants to do everything at once, try the Bowflex SelectTech. When you buy direct from Bowflex, they give you a six-week trial to test it.

Bowflex SelectTech Dumbbells revised - are worth?

!±8± Bowflex SelectTech Dumbbells revised - are worth?

When I saw the advertisement for Bowflex SelectTech Dumbbells to be 552 I thought it would suffer the slam dunk choice for each year with a little discretionary income. For myself, I thought, do not have much room to play with in my place, and I like the innovative way in which the dumbbells are assembled.

When I started my research, but I saw some comments on the hard plastic locks broken and I thought that what looked like a design flaw would be a deal-breaker for herme. At least I did not like the possibility of a plate freely unexpectedly uncovered - that could hurt!

After looking deeper, however, seemed to break that, despite reports of some castles, Bowflex SelectTech 552 Dumbbells had a large base of enthusiastic fans. (I suspect that one of the fans saw That Bowflex / Nautilus should be all steel, to avoid problems with the locks, but it is probably one of the movement as dumbbells would have cost more.)

I amBut before you jump. Let me tell you more about the main advantages and disadvantages, which I as others, such as the roadblock to share problem.

The pre-

One of the main advantages of using these weights is to change the ability of the weights in a few seconds. Place the handle down (more about the state) and you can adjust the weight in increments of 2.5 pounds very quickly, only to rise above a control knob on the side of the bar to the desired amount.

Yes, it's as easy as 1, select the new weight, 2 Elevatorand 3 weights on the right are automatically selected and added to the bar.

This means that there would be no need to have several pairs of weights to stop the exercise.

For those of us with small spaces, means that less space in your bedroom or wherever you train and picked up. They have created the equivalent of a huge burden on a much smaller package.

Let's talk about aesthetics. Frankly, these dumbbells just really cool to see. They look like space ageInventions - the slim design smells just fun for modern electronic gadgets. This will definitely ratchet coolness factor even one piece - even if only in your mind and no one else sees a dumbbell in cold blood.

Then the handles feel strong and very comfortable to hold, even without gloves. They are made of rubber, not metal as blisters and calluses should not be a problem.

The disadvantages

Of course the biggest criticism is the price, but then Irationalized - it is not so bad if you always compare a dozen different dumbbells instead. It is worth the room that you store on the transferability of the handlebars and the time you save instead of a dozen free weights correctly.

Another thing is that just for the design, the weights are always awkward, even if you lift lighter weights. Basically, the rooms for the heavier weights are still on the shelf, even if you disagree with them. Not a big deal, but a little 'tooused to, as if the length given in the manner for some years.

All in all, however, see these dumbbells as an excellent choice for most. My list? I hope that Nautilus / Bowflex is a way around the more compact form factor, weight (thin, thick plates?) To do - now that's a great product would be even more interesting.
